With about 3000 specimens belonging to more than 800 species, the bird collection is the third most important in Tuscany. Consisting essentially of stuffed specimens, it includes almost all the species present in our region and many exotic birds. Rare birds include two New Zealand parrot species threatened with extinction and the now extinct Eskimo curlew.
